
Zapékané Brambory
Baked potatoes layered with ham, cheese, and cream, offering a hearty and comforting dish.
Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes
- 8 oz ham
- 1 cup cheese
- 1 cup cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp parsley

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds (about 1/8 inch thick).

Dice the ham into small cubes and set aside.

Grate the cheese and set aside.

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add the cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to the saucepan. Stir well and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the potato slices evenly on the bottom.

Spread half of the diced ham over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the grated cheese on top.

Pour half of the cream mixture over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.

Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, ham, cheese, and cream mixture.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top before serving.
