
Spicy BBQ Tofu Skewers with Peanut Sauce
Grilled tofu skewers marinated in spicy BBQ sauce and served with a creamy peanut dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sriracha
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 4 stalks green onions
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 8 pieces skewers

Press the firm tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top.

In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, sriracha, maple syrup, garlic powder, and ginger powder to create the marinade.

Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and add them to the marinade. Toss gently to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

While the tofu is marinating, prepare the peanut sauce. In a separate bowl, mix together the peanut butter, lime juice, and 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more water if needed.

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (about 400°F).

Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.

Brush the grill with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the tofu is golden brown and slightly charred.

While the skewers are grilling, chop the green onions finely.

Once the skewers are done, remove them from the grill and let them cool slightly before serving.

Serve the spicy BBQ tofu skewers with the peanut dipping sauce and garnish with chopped green onions.
