
Smoked Sausage with Mustard Sauce
Juicy smoked sausage links served with a homemade mustard sauce, ideal for a quick lunch.
Ingredients
- 4 links smoked sausage
- 1 cup yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 medium onion
- 4 buns buns
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium heat (about 350°F).

While the grill is heating, prepare the mustard sauce. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of yellow mustard, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Mix well until smooth.

Slice the medium onion into thin rings. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion rings and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized. Season with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of paprika.

Place the smoked sausage links on the preheated grill. Grill for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and have nice grill marks.

While the sausages are grilling, toast the buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until they are lightly browned.

Once the sausages are cooked, remove them from the grill and place them into the toasted buns.

Top each sausage with the sautéed onions and drizzle with the homemade mustard sauce.
