    In a small bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast with 1/4 cup of warm milk (about 110°F) and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.

    In a small saucepan, heat 3/4 cup of whole milk and 1 stick of unsalted butter over low heat until the butter melts. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

    Add the yeast mixture and the milk-butter mixture to the flour mixture. Add 1 large egg and mix until a dough forms.

    Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
