Ingredients

  • 1 pound prawns
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 medium tomato
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 medium green chili
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves

    Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    Finely chop 1 medium onion and add it to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.

    Mince 4 cloves of garlic and grate 1 tablespoon of ginger. Add them to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

    Chop 2 medium tomatoes and add them to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften and break down.

    Add 2 teaspoons of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1 medium chopped green chili. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.

    Pour in 1 cup of coconut milk and mix thoroughly. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

    Add 1 pound of cleaned prawns to the skillet and season with 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir and cover the skillet.

    Cook the prawns for 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.

    Once cooked, remove from heat and garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh coriander leaves.
