Ploughman’s Lunch
A traditional cold meal featuring cheese, bread, pickles, and salad, perfect for a light dinner.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bread
- 1 cup pickles
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cups salad greens
- 1 medium apple
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 2 tbsp whole grain mustard

Gather all ingredients and prepare a clean workspace.

Slice the cheddar cheese into thick wedges, about 1/2 inch thick.

Toast the bread slices lightly in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Spread butter evenly on one side of each toasted bread slice.

Wash salad greens thoroughly under cold water and spin dry in a salad spinner or pat dry with a clean towel.

Wash the apple and slice it into wedges, removing the core.

Wash cherry tomatoes and cut them in half.

On a large serving platter, arrange the cheddar cheese, toasted bread, pickles, salad greens, apple wedges, and cherry tomatoes.
