Mushroom Toast with Garlic Butter
Sautéed mushrooms in garlic butter served on crusty bread, perfect for a light breakfast.
Ingredients
- 8 oz mushrooms
- 4 slices bread
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them into thick pieces.

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown, stirring occasionally.

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the skillet with the mushrooms. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well and cook for another minute.

While the mushrooms are cooking, toast the bread slices in a toaster or under a broiler until golden brown.

Chop the parsley and mix it into the mushroom mixture just before removing from heat.

To serve, place the toasted bread on plates and top generously with the sautéed mushroom mixture.

Garnish with additional parsley if desired and serve immediately.
