Instructions
- 1
Preheat a skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
- 2
Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet and let it melt, coating the bottom.
- 3
Place the 2 slices of Leberkäse in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are heated through and slightly browned.
- 4
While the Leberkäse is cooking, crack the 2 large eggs into a bowl, being careful not to break the yolks.
- 5
Once the Leberkäse is done, remove it from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- 6
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and carefully add the eggs. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.
- 7
Season the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
- 8
While the eggs are cooking, toast the 2 slices of bread in a toaster until golden brown.
- 9
To serve, place a slice of toasted bread on each plate, top with a slice of Leberkäse, and then gently place a fried egg on top.
- 10
Serve with 1 tablespoon of mustard on the side and 2 slices of pickles for garnish.
