Kuřecí na paprice
A delightful Czech dish featuring chicken cooked in a creamy paprika sauce, perfect for a satisfying lunch.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds chicken thighs
- 1 large onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 1 bay leaf

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Season 1.5 pounds of chicken thighs with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

Add the seasoned chicken thighs to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.

In the same skillet, add 1 large chopped onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.

Add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in 2 tablespoons of sweet paprika and cook for 1 minute to bloom the spices.

Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth and add 1 bay leaf. Stir to combine.

Return the browned chicken thighs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.

After 20 minutes, remove the chicken and set aside again. Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream into the sauce and bring to a gentle simmer.
