
Koldūnų Sriuba - Dumpling Soup
A comforting soup featuring dumplings filled with meat, served in a rich broth, perfect for warming up on a chilly day.
Ingredients
- 16 pieces meat dumplings
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 medium carrots
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 leaf bay leaf

Instructions

In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

Add 1 large chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.

Add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Add 2 medium diced carrots and continue to sauté for another 3 minutes.

Pour in 6 cups of chicken broth and add 1 bay leaf. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and season with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

Carefully add 16 pieces of meat dumplings to the pot and let them cook for 10-12 minutes or until they float to the top.

Remove the bay leaf and stir in 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped dill.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot in bowls, garnished with additional dill if desired.
