Instructions

  1. 1

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 2

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the octopus and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the octopus is tender.

  3. 3

While the octopus is cooking, prepare the marinade. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of olive oil, juice of 1 lemon, minced garlic, chopped parsley, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.

  4. 4

Once the octopus is tender, remove it from the pot and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Then, cut the tentacles from the body.

  5. 5

Place the octopus tentacles into the marinade and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.

  6. 6

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F).

  7. 7

Remove the octopus from the marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until you see nice grill marks and the octopus is slightly charred.

  8. 8

Remove the octopus from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the tentacles into smaller pieces if desired.

  9. 9

Serve the grilled octopus with lemon wedges and drizzle with the remaining marinade. Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired.
