    Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with 1 cup of warm milk (about 110°F). Stir until a smooth batter forms.

    Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the batter rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

    After the batter has risen, gently fold in 1 teaspoon of baking powder. The batter should be thick but pourable.
