Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked bacon until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the bacon and chop it into bite-sized pieces, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.
- 3
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté in the bacon fat until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- 4
In a large mixing bowl, combine the baked beans (drained), cooked bacon, sautéed onion, brown sugar, mustard, black pepper, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until well combined.
- 5
Transfer the bean mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- 6
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- 7
After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the beans are bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.
- 8
Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- 9
Serve warm as a side dish with your favorite BBQ meats.
