Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain. Reserve about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the skillet.

  3. 3

Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease. Sauté the onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the canned beans (drained and rinsed), sautéed onions, cooked bacon (chopped), brown sugar, barbecue sauce, mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  5. 5

Transfer the bean mixture into a 3-quart baking dish, spreading it evenly.

  6. 6

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

  7. 7

After 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the beans are bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.

  8. 8

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your BBQ baked beans as a delicious side dish!
