Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

In a large bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, 1 cup of bread crumbs, 1 beaten egg, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of cumin.

  3. 3

Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

  4. 4

Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.

  5. 5

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

  6. 6

While the meatballs are baking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  7. 7

Chop 1 small onion and add it to the skillet. Sauté for 5 minutes until the onion is translucent.

  8. 8

Add 2 cups of tomato sauce and 1 bay leaf to the skillet. Stir well and bring the sauce to a simmer.

  9. 9

Once the meatballs are cooked, carefully transfer them to the skillet with the sauce.

  10. 10

Cover the skillet and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes.

  11. 11

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. Remove the bay leaf before serving.

  12. 12

Serve the albondigas en salsa hot, garnished with additional parsley, alongside crusty bread.
